Handling device or internetgatewaydevice?

You should be able to do that with aliases.

#config/parameters.json
"[Device|InternetGatewayDevice]" : {"alias" : "summary.root"}

I don't know if this will work, but its worth a shot:
"[Device|InternetGatewayDevice]" : {"alias" : "root"}
