Using GenieACS

I turned the firewall off on the client, but it still isn't responding. How do you initiate a connection request?

Hi Matt,

just to make sure we are talking about the same things:

- when an inform happens, the client connects to the server - this is done
periodically or as a result of a connection request
- when a connection request happens, the server connects to the client to
instruct him to do an inform

If there is a firewall running on the CPE, a connection request is not possible but an inform still is.

Greetings,
Oliver

If the port was blocked we would not be able to communicate at all, but we do connect on reboot of the client. The client and server are physically on the same network so again the port doesn't appear to be blocked. I am thinking there may be a way to make a connection request to the device so the device will connect rather than waiting for a reboot and then the commands will go through.
