Usage of Genie ACS GUI

I can try to answer this :S Even though im new to genie.

1) Under the device page (click show on the device) you’ll see the deviceinfo at the bottom of the page, you can search and scroll through the list, because its full width of the window I missed that it was scrollable the first few times I checked that page, once you find what you want to change, just mouse over it and click edit (will have edit button if it’s not read only).

2) From what I can tell presets are for always-set values, like if you want all of CPE’s with Model# X to have Periodic inform set to Y it will preset those when it talks to the cpe (or at least that’s what I believe is the case the other guys can confirm, I haven’t played with it yet but seems to fit)

3) Had this issue as well it’s because the config/auth.js wasn’t configured on the genieacs to have the authentication for the client CPE’s, if you have a static username/password for all CPE’s just edit the auth.js with it and restart genie,if you do something more complex with like parts of serial numbers or a hash or something you’d need to code that into the auth.js (its javascript so is pretty easy).

I’m sure dan will correct me if I got something wrong ☺

Chris

Thanks for the response..

Please check the following 3 queries,

1) Actually we want to SET any field like Periodic interval, ACS server URL.. etc.., But not specific to Decvice info..

Please let us know how to SET values from Genie ACS server gui.

2) please let us know what is the use of PRESET ?

Please share if any document which helps in understanding the GenieACS gui operations.

3) In the device parameters, when we click the REFRESH for a particular device parameter, the TASK goes in the queue ( by saying that the device is not online - but its online only - GUI shows it as online )

how to perform the GET operation from the GenieACS gui.

Please let us know.

Kind Regards

SenthilK

Certain options are readonly. Just about every option under InternetGatewayDevice.DeviceInfo is readonly as those parameters are manufacture and device specific.

To use the presets, you put in the full path to the option you want to set, and the value. For me, I have a preset to set and enable the time server.

Hope this helps.

Hi All,

We have installed the Genie ACS and connected with a client ( NetCWMP).

In the Genie ACS GUI, able to see the connected device and its status..

Queries ::

1. How to SET the device parameters ?

for ex; my device parameter has the InternetGatewayDevice.DeviceInfo.Manufacturer has been set to the value "ChinaNMS" ,

Here how to change this value to some other value ??

2. In the Genie ACS GUI, we have the option for the preset, where it allows to set the value for the parameters,

We have tried giving the existing device parameters and its not taking anything, returns 405 method not allowed.

please let me know how to use this preset option.

Kind Regards
